Our Values

Most home care companies are nation-wide franchises and the owners may not have the medical experience relevant to the special needs of seniors. Atlantic Homelife is a nurse owned, local, licensed home health care company founded in Dover, NH by Martha Berk, RN, who has 30 years of experience working with seniors and understands the importance of skilled nurses.

Our Process

Every client of Atlantic Homelife receives an initial assessment by a registered nurse. That same nurse then works with the client and family in developing and implementing a plan of care. The assigned nurse will monitor for client's changing needs by conducting reassessments every four months and updating the plan of care as needed. Our skilled nurses also function as a clinical liaison between the client, family and physician as well as any other skilled nursing agency that may be part of the client's health care team.

Our Registered Nurses

Atlantic Homelife has a team of Registered Nurses on staff working directly with our clients and caregivers. They are available On-Call to give emergency support to our caregivers and clients 24/7!

Our Caregivers

Our team of professional, compassionate and dedicated caregivers are the heart of our company. They share the same goal of providing outstanding care by maintaining their client's dignity and encouraging their independence. Their goal is to maintain the clients' autonomy, not "take over." Our caregivers are all employees of Atlantic Homelife (no contractors) and go through a rigorous screening process that includes multiple screenings, reference checks and state criminal background and Department of Motor Vehicle checks. All caregivers are fully insured with workman's compensation insurance, professional and general liability insurance and are given the option to partake in a full benefits program.

At Atlantic Homelife, we hire only licensed nursing assistants and certified person care attendants to provide care in our client's home. In addition, our caregivers receive their initial and ongoing training by a New Hampshire Board of Nursing approved instructor.
